Frequently Asked Questions

Who are Cars4Charities Ltd
Cars4Charities was launched in June 2005 and links together some of the best known car manufacturers and dealers in the country (Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Peugeot, VW etc.). Because of their support we are able to offer customers new cars at significantly discounted prices and, as a result, the ability to pass on some of those savings to nominated charities by way of donation.

How can you sell vehicles cheaper than my local dealer?
There are several reasons why we are able to offer lower priced vehicles:
  • Cars4charities have negotiated favourable discounts from UK dealers in exchange for advertising said dealers product nationally.
  • Unlike main franchised dealer groups Cars4Charities are not bound by fixed pricing structures in order to subsidise expensive showrooms. Operating costs are kept low allowing saving to be passed on to consumer.
  • Cars4Charities are able to supply a selection of first/pre registered or ex demonstrator vehicles which have never been used.
Will I be the first registered keeper of my new vehicle?
Cars4Charities offer a selection of first registered or pre registered vehicles. For first registered vehicles you will receive the vehicle log book (V5 document) showing your name and address recorded as the first keeper. The document will be forwarded direct from the DVLA up to four weeks after delivery. Customers wishing to take advantage of a greater saving can select to purchase a new pre registered vehicle. Like first registered you will be the first owner but in this instance the second recorded keeper. Customers purchasing through this method will receive their V5 between 12 – 24 weeks after supply. In circumstances where the new owner requires transfer of title in advance of 24 weeks a charge of £19 will be levied (subject to conditions).

Are the vehicles UK specification?
Unless stated all vehicles are supplied through UK main dealers and are therefore guaranteed full UK specification. Vehicles obtained and supplied through European dealers (Imports) will also be ordered to full UK specification unless stated otherwise.

Do the cars come with a warranty?
All vehicles supplied have the full manufacturer’s warranty and road side assistance as specified by the manufacturer. All warranty claims and work can be carried out by any dealership throughout the UK. Vehicles imported from the EU generally come with a 2 year warranty.

Will my local dealership service and maintain my car after delivery?
Purchasing a new car through Cars4Charities is no different from buying your new vehicle in London and then moving to Scotland. All dealerships and manufacturer approved service centres will honour any warranty or servicing work.

How does the buying process work?
Having selected your required vehicle we advise that you familiarise your self with our companies Terms & Conditions of supply. In order to proceed Cars4Charities will require a deposit to secure the order and the return of formal order form detailing the specification and price of your chosen vehicle. Cars4Charities Ltd strongly advises the use of credit cards which offer the customer protection. On receipt of the deposit C4C Ltd will place the order direct with our supplier and forward to you an order confirmation.

Do you offer Finance facilities?
Yes, C4C ltd offer flexible and extremely competitive finance options. If you would like a finance quote, after storing a car in your garage, you are given the option on ‘my garage’ page to get an instant online finance quote.

Can I part exchange my car?
Yes, unlike most on-line car retailers we are pleased to offer a part-exchange service. Please use the online valuation tool for a quote and decide whether you would like to submit your part exchange details when you are ready to enquire about your new car.

How will I know if there are any changes to the order or estimated delivery date?
Your sales agent’s role will be to update you with the progress of your order and liaise with the supplier and logistics teams to ensure a smooth transition of the car to you. They will keep you up to date with any changes via telephone or e-mail.

When will I know the exact delivery date?
We can only provide an exact delivery date when your car has arrived at the supplier following its pre-delivery inspection. Manufacturers and suppliers can only provide estimated dates when the orders are placed which can be subject to movement either forward or backward. We do, however, endeavour to overstate rather than understate lead times.

When my car is ready what delivery options do I have?
  • Home Delivery - You have been quoted a price which includes driven delivery anywhere in the UK (An additional charge of approx. £100 + Vat will be levied for Scotland). Customers requiring trailer delivery are asked to request a quotation from your sales representative.
  • Collection From Cars4Charities offices in Bedford
When will I need to make final payment?
The final balance (less deposit) is required prior to the agreed delivery date either by CHAPS (same day transfer), internet bank transfer or by cleared cheque. Alternatively if you are not comfortable paying for your vehicle in advance of viewing you are welcome to visit our offices in Bedford to inspect your vehicle and pay by banker’s draft.
